Motivation Monday

I’ve been struggling with this section of the blog because I haven’t been feeling the motivation to exercise regularly. Between work, the kids, the house and the holidays it’s been difficult to set aside time to exercise. Also I’m noticing that I am getting pigeonholed in instagram and am spending way too much time scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. Building this platform/side business is a major goal of mine and the “instagram suck” is a really thing. Health is both mental and physical and getting overwhelmed is something that I struggle with. My motivation this week is to become more organized, focus on getting my blog posts out and staying consistent.

The postpartum struggle

I wanted to discuss postpartum because while postpartum depression is talked about often I don’t feel that other aspects of it are talked about as much. I remember when I was pregnant with my first child and feeling like something was wrong with me because I did not absolutely love being pregnant.

Holiday Serving Platters

October 22, 2020

pumpkin cheese board | turkey serving platter | 3 tier server | gatsby carafe | marble look melamine platter | marble and wood cutting board | onyx cheese knives | marble and copper cheese board | alligator cheese knives | small glass and marble bowl | large glass and marble bowl | round serving bowl | black lily pad server | white lily pad server | large marble server | small marble server | kona wood platters

My husband and I love hosting holiday parties. Christmas Eve has become a tradition since we moved in to our house. Typically we like to have some catered food but mostly appetizers and finger foods. Presentation of these can be difficult especially if you’re working with limited space. I love that these serving platers have different levels and are interchangeable to maximize space. While holiday parties may be a thing of the past this year (thanks COVID) these are all classic styles and can be used over and over again, whether it’s wine night with your girlfriends or a summer barbecue, you’ll definitely get a lot of use out of them. My favorites on this list are the alligator cheese knives, a little pop of whimsy and fun, something a little unexpected and the two tier gold and marble server from CB2. I was given this server as a Christmas gift last year and it’s amazing. Very sturdy and absolutely stunning.

October 22, 2020 – Lifestyle

Welcome to my first blog post

Welcome, I am excited that you have stopped by and I hope that enjoy the blog. If you’ve read the About section you know a little about me already and if you haven’t, Hi! I’m Melissa! I am a married, 30-something mom of two. I work full time as a Dental Hygienist and I love what I do but have recently wanted “more” specifically creatively. My husband and I discussed me going back to school but with two kids and a husband that works 60 miles away it did not really seem feasible. After some reflection on things that I enjoy doing I decided to start this blog. I’m hoping that it will motivate myself and others to be proactive in our wants and desires whether it’s physical health, mental heath or just exploring things that you enjoy doing! My goal is to provide inspiration for lifestyle (home decor, family outings, beauty), wellness – both physical and mental, and style.

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to reach out in the comments, connect to me via email, check out my Instagram or visit my Pinterest boards.

I’m excited to see where this new venture will take me and I’m thankful for your support.
