About Melissa

Hi guys! I’m Melissa. I am 34 years old living on Long Island, NY. I’m married and have two children. Our daughter who is four and our son who is one. I currently work full time as a Dental Hygienist and I love it but recently decided to delve into the world of blogging. Why, you might ask? I see this as a way to be creative but also a way to hold myself accountable to my goals.

My husband and I married a few years ago and quickly after getting married we were pregnant with our daughter and buying our home. If anyone else here has little kids you may agree with me when I say it can feel a little bit like a hamster wheel. Get up, get the kids ready, go to work, come home, bedtime routine for the kids, get ready for the next day, wake up and start it all over again. Working full time and taking care of kids can be very overwhelming and finding a balance between what needs to be done and finding time for yourself can be very difficult. I definitely struggle with making time for the things that I enjoy as I am sure many of you do too but I’ve come to realize that it’s very important. Whether it’s time alone or date nights with the hubs, we are much better parents/humans when you have time to do things we enjoy for ourselves. I’d often struggle with balancing spending time with ME and being with my kids. After having our son in 2019 I decided that it was time to stop making excuses and be proactive with my health and wellness both physically and mentally. That meant exercising regularly, eating healthy and expressing myself creatively. I’ve checked off the first two boxes and here I am now, starting this blog to work on checking off the third.

If you would have asked me at any time within the last 15 years if I wanted to start a blog I probably would have laughed in your face. It definitely took me by surprise when I decided to but it is something that I am excited about.

So here we are. My goals for this blog are to hold myself more accountable to my fitness journey, finding a balance between family and oneself or kids and marriage,  explore my renewed love of fashion and style and work on eating healthier and cooking more meals at home vs. going the easy route with take out.  There may be some tavel, there may be some tips for home decorating, who knows?  I am excited to see where this blog takes me and I hope that you enjoy the journey.

Thank you for stopping by my new labor of love. If you have any suggestions for new posts or recommendations for things you would like to see feel free to contact me. You can also check me out on Instagram and Pinterest.
