Memorial Day mini capsule collection

May 18, 2021

Memorial Day. The unofficial start of summer, the it’s okay to wear white pants now, the break out those denim cutoffs and sun dresses, the it’s cool to wear red white and blue is here! After what felt like a long, cold winter the excitement of Memorial Day and Summer is palpable. Memorial Day Styles reminds me of Fourth of July with red, white and blue as the popular theme so these looks can also be transitioned to Fourth of July Styles as well. Memorial Day styles don’t have to be “themed” looks. All of these pieces can be mixed and matched to create a wide variety of looks, from the perfect backyard barbecue look, to the LWD date night look, to a beach bonfire look.

This mini capsule collection consists of 14 articles of clothing and 5 pair of shoes and can create upwards of 30 different looks. Our closets do not need to be stuffed to the brim. Truthfully I find that to create more confusion and apprehension when styling a look. If my closet it too packed or even just messy and out of order I tend to grab the same items over and over again because it’s easy! While style shouldn’t be too difficult we also want it to be style! Not just wearing the same tshirt and jeans day after day because we know it fits and looks good. Style is about risks. Now they doesn’t mean you need to be wearing avant-garde styles day in and day out but maybe adding a ruffle detail or an oversized blazer or a bodysuit instead of your basic tee, something to bring your look to the next level (not leveled up to 1000 unless that the look you’re going for). Being pushed out of our comfort zone can open the door to a new found confidence when it comes to how we dress. Now this Memorial Day Mini Capsule Collection if made up of mostly basics so no over the top looks coming from here however, these basics will take you from Memorial Day straight through to Labor Day.

This particular Memorial Day Mini Capsule Collection was compiled from items that I already had in my closet! A new season doesn’t have to mean spending money on a new wardrobe. I always recommend editing what you already have. I’m often surprised by what I have and how I can restyle the items for different times of the year. So before you head out and spend a lot of money on new clothing start by looking in your closet. You may be surprised by what you already have. If you are in the market for new items I’ve linked similar styles.
