Motivation Monday

December 28, 2020

Today is the last Monday of the year. Can you believe that?! The LAST one! This year has felt simultaneously extremely long as well as super short. COVID certainly through a monkey wrench into everyone’s lives but soon we can put this year behind us and look forward to 2021 and hopefully a better year. I’m not big on New Years Resolutions, I feel like they imply that you were/are faulty somehow the previous year. Most people can’t live up to the pressures that resolutions put on us and end up failing anyway and I am so not down with more failure and negativity after the hell of a year we’ve all been through. Instead of a fitness schedule or a resolution for my Motivation Monday I am going to set forth my goals and intentions for the upcoming months and year. I’m a firm believer that you get what you put out; be kind and kindness will come to you, work hard and success will come to you etc. So here they are, in no particular order or category:

1. Health/fitness- you all know this is a struggle of mine as I’m sure it is with many others. I want to eat healthier (less Oreo cookies at night) and workout more frequently. We have a beach trip planned for August and I’d love to be more comfortable in my post baby body.

2. Maintain my household better- kids get the better of my house. I’ve been better at putting toys away at the end of the day but clutter = stress and anxiety and I am the queen of the neat pile. However, no matter how neat that pile is, it’s still a pile that does not need to be there. A regular cleaning schedule may help but being more proactive in keeping the house clean and orderly is definitely a goal.

3. SAVE SAVE SAVE- I’d love to be able to put more into savings. Between maternity leave in 2019 and COVID in 2020 it’s been rough. Maternity leave is seriously lacking in the States. The financial burden it puts on families is often hard to recover from. Not that we are back to work saving is a major goal.

4. Grow this blog/social media side hustle- I’m not going to lie, maintaining this blog and social media definitely add some stress to my life. I absolutely am loving this space but staying current with content that people are interested in and carving out the time to work on it is difficult however, it is extremely important to me and has been an amazing outlet for me. I’d love to increase readers/followers on the blog, produce more regular blog posts, hit 5k followers on Instagram, grow my LIKEtoKNOW.it followers and add a little extra income. SAVE SAVE SAVE 🙂 If you’re not following me on Instagram and want to check it out you can find me @meliss.j The LIKEtoKNOW.it app is also a great shopping resource and you can find at @meliss.j also on there.

Do you set resolutions or goals for the upcoming year? I’d love to hear what some of your goals are for 2021, leave them in the comments or send an email.

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year. 2020 is soon behind us, we’ve overcome a lot this year. Thank you for your continued support with my labor of ❤️
