I’ve been struggling with this section of the blog because I haven’t been feeling the motivation to exercise regularly. Between work, the kids, the house and the holidays it’s been difficult to set aside time to exercise. Also I’m noticing that I am getting pigeonholed in instagram and am spending way too much time scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. Building this platform/side business is a major goal of mine and the “instagram suck” is a really thing. Health is both mental and physical and getting overwhelmed is something that I struggle with. My motivation this week is to become more organized, focus on getting my blog posts out and staying consistent.
In terms of physical fitness I’ve found that I can do a little while playing with my kids. Crunches, push ups, ladder climbs, squats whatever it may be it’s something. I’ve also noticed that when I do those things while playing with my kids they try and join in. It’s important to me that my kids understand health and fitness are important so seeing them get on the floor and copy me is all the motivation I need to continue with my own fitness goals.

You know…motivation is a myth. Our brains are set up to keep us from pushing forward and changing, so if you wait to feel motivated, it really will never happen. What I’ve found really works for me is to just repeatedly affirm “I exercise every day” and make it a part of my early morning routine. Granted, with littles it is much harder. Good luck!

I am right there with you! Being a mom is hard, and takes all the motivation and most of the discipline! The thing that has worked for me is remembering that I’m a better mom when I exercise, both physically and mentally. That usually gets my butt up and my workout done. Good luck with your journey! If you need an accountability buddy, let me know! Moms need to stick together and build each other up!
