Have you ever been on Instagram and start perusing someone’s account? Whether it’s someone new you’re following or one of your go to influencers, you scroll down to some old posts and see something that you absolutely love and want or they repost an old photo and now when you click the link the item is sold out? It happens to me often and it always leaves me disappointed. I don’t take too many risks when it comes to style so getting to see an item that I wouldn’t typically buy on someone else, seeing how they style it sometimes prompts me to want to branch out and try something new. When I come across an item that I want, like really want, can’t stop thinking about it, creating my own way to style it in my head and I can’t purchase it through their links I head on over to Poshmark or ThredUp and start searching. If you’ve never tried them or are unfamiliar with them they are online resale sites, sort of like a consignment store or thrift store and they’re awesome. I’ve recently picked up a few items that I was “influenced” on but that were sold out.
I saw this Wildfox sweatshirt on StyledSnapshots and thought it was so cute for summer but she posted it last year. Naturally it was sold out everywhere but I was able to grab it and for a fraction of the price 😊. This drape wrap bodysuit was recommended by ClaireGuentz and again, completely sold out but a quick search on Poshmark and now it’s mine! And if I’m being honest, if I saw this bodysuit while shopping on Revolve, I probably would have clicked past it but seeing in on someone I follow in a real setting not a studio I could get a better idea of what it would look like on me.
Another thing Poshmark is great for are purchasing items that you aren’t too sure about. Maybe it’s sizing or the cost, whatever your reason may be, you can typically find what you’re looking for at a fraction of the price. I loved the way these Levi’s 501 Skinny’s looked on a bunch of Influencers but I wasn’t sure how they would fit me. They sell for around $100 and I didn’t want to make a purchase only to have them not fit right since I am notorious for never mailing back returns. On Poshmark I was able to get them for $45 and I love them!

So if you are looking to purchase an item that is sold out everywhere or you want to try and get a better deal on something you were influenced on check out Poshmark or ThredUp.
